Hackney Caribbean Elderly Organisation is a social care agency that was founded in 1985.
We have four sections:
Day Services
which provide:
- full independent living support
- A nutritious lunch service
- Social, cultural and spiritual support
- Arts & crafts
- Games & music
- Disabled transport services
- Annual holiday trips
- Educational visits
- Healthy living exercise classes
- Day trips
- Guest speaker events
Mental Wellbeing Programme
The Mental Wellbeing programme provides a ‘Memory Group’ and a support plan to assist the service users and their loved ones to access services that will assist them in better managing their memory loss.
Take Care Of The Pennies Project
The ‘Take Care of the Pennies’ project provides financial advice, support and guidance to people aged 55 plus across Hackney.
Advocacy and Outreach Project
The Advocacy and Outreach Project assists elderly people to speak up when there are decisions to be made about their lives such as how to:
- Get adaptations made to their properties
- Make complaints and challenge decisions
- Access care and support
- Find a suitable home
- Deal with paperwork
